In many ways, Kentucky epitomized
the divided loyalties that ripped our
nation asunder. Competition for this
border state reached an apex during
the Kentucky campaign of late
summer and early autumn 1862.

Union and Confederate armies vied
throughout the Bluegrass and, in a
significant measure, affected the
war's outcome.

The Kentucky campaign may be
lesser known among the Civil War's
other major events, but it offers much
vivid detail and sites well worth
visiting, including the battles of
Richmond, Munfordville and Perryville.

Our tour will be headquartered at the
historic Shaker Village at Pleasant
Hill.
